Jumi Kim, soprano

Jumi Kim, soprano, has been a featured soloist at concerts, including Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass, and Vivaldi Gloria with Santa Ynez Master Choral and Orchestra, Bach Church Cantata BWV51 and Bach Magnificat with Symphony of the Vines, Pergolesi Stabat Mater with Brillante Chamber Ensemble on the Central Coast. She also appeared as a guest artist at various concerts with Music Untold in Los Angeles and Washington D.C.


Ms. Kim Joined Opera San Luis Obispo in the role of high priestess for their 2014 production of Aida and returned to perform the role of Lola from Cavalleria Rusticana in 2015. During her studies she performed various operatic roles including Suzel in Mascagni's L'amico Fritz, Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Countess in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Gilda in Verdi's Rigoletto, and Cio-Cio San in Puccini's Madama Butterfly.


Ms. Kim taught at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo as a voice faculty for six years prior to moving to Napa Valley area. She previously taught voice at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion and IPFW (Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne). Ms. Kim received her doctoral degree in vocal performance from Ball State University, received her master's from Indiana University, and her bachelor's degree from Ewha Woman's University in Seoul, Korea.
